Stuffed Animals Help Kids with Special Needs and Medical Challenges

Children with special needs and those facing medical challenges need many different types of support.
There’s all their medical care including doctor visits, therapy sessions and hospital stays.
They require extra equipment at home and probably extra nursing care or a para to assist them at school.
With so much going on sometimes their needs as children can get a bit lost. How do we find ways to help them be children? To have fun and colorful toys that are still safe and enjoyable for them? To have things in their lives that remind them of the “happy” of being a child and help to brighten their days?
That’s why we carry a wide assortment of special stuffed animals at Hannatopia™!
These stuffed animals do a super job of being there for kiddos with special needs. Not only are they adorable, soft, cuddly best friends – they also provide support in loads of ways that kids with medical challenges need.
Here at Hannatopia™, we offer thirteen stuffed animals. From unicorns to cats, dogs, and even a frog ????. Available in several sizes!
Take Big Scruff (pictured) for example. He is 27” long! He provides comfort in so many ways!
We’ve been told Scruff and the other stuffed animals have been used:
➡️as added padding and protection against bed rails for children suffering from seizures,
➡️as an added cushion on a car ride for children that need a rest,
➡️as a pillow prop for children with medical challenges,
➡️or simply as a comfort companion.

Whatever the need – these stuffed animals are always ready to snuggle. To help a child be a child. While supporting their medical needs as well. Super soft, adorable, and so life-like!
Our stuffed animals will make anyone smile ?. Made by Aurora®, these stuffed animals are incredibly well made with a focus on durability, safety, affordability, and most importantly, cuteness. Made from the finest quality materials for lasting love ?.
Hannatopia™ founder Heather says “If you look closely at the pic of multiple pups, you will see the ears are a great holder for VNS magnets! And the magnet is perfect to keep track of that organic lip gloss that is oh so necessary while in the hospital to protect those dry lips ?.”
VNS magnets are part of VNS Therapy™ which “helps control seizures by providing electrical stimulation to the vagus nerve, which then stimulates the brain. If you have a VNS implanted, you will return to see the doctor or nurse to program the device during office visits. During these visits, the generator is programmed to deliver intermittent stimulation, usually every 5 minutes but it can be more frequently.”
“The device can also be programmed to deliver stimulation when it’s activated by a magnet. This allows the user to trigger an extra burst of stimulation when a magnet is swiped over the generator. The magnet settings may be set a little higher than the usual settings to provide more stimulation at the time of a seizure. The stimulation may last 30 or 60 seconds at a time, depending on how it works for you.” To learn more visit The Epilepsy Network.
